Daniel Pycock is a British entrepreneur, CEO of VA 361 Productions, audiovisual producer, Dakar Classic finisher, speaker and host of the Spanish-language video podcast La Mazmorra. Born in Norwich and raised between Almería and Aberdeenshire, he is now based in Madrid. Pycock built his career from hands-on technical production, progressing through lighting, sound, video and project management before founding Visionarea. Following a two-and-a-half-year restructuring, the company became VA 361 Productions, where he leads international audiovisual and live-event delivery. In 2023, after reaching 152 kilograms, Pycock began a three-year transformation that resulted in a 60-kilogram weight loss and his development as a hybrid athlete. In 2026, he and navigator Francisco Javier Gómez Espigares completed all thirteen stages of the Dakar Classic in a 1993 Mitsubishi Pajero, finishing 84th overall. His current projects connect entrepreneurship, personal transformation, adventure and documentary storytelling.

LongBackground biography

Daniel Matthew Pycock, known professionally as Daniel Pycock, is a British entrepreneur, audiovisual producer, endurance rally driver, speaker and media creator based in Madrid, Spain. Born in Norwich, he spent his early childhood in Las Negras, in the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park in Almería, before moving to Aberdeenshire at twelve. After studying at Inverurie Academy and Aberdeen College, he returned to Spain to pursue practical work experience.

Pycock began his professional training as an electrician and entered the corporate-events industry through hands-on work in lighting, sound and video. He later moved into technical production and project management, eventually founding Visionarea at the age of 27. From 2020 to mid-2022, the company underwent a substantial restructuring and rebrand, emerging as VA 361 Productions with Francisco “Fran” Gómez joining as co-CEO. Pycock now serves as CEO, combining strategic leadership with the practical delivery of international audiovisual productions and live events. He also served for three years on the board of the AV Alliance.

In 2023, after reaching 152 kilograms, Pycock began a complete lifestyle transformation. Across three years he lost 60 kilograms, training in CrossFit, HYROX, powerlifting and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. That process became connected to a broader interest in performance, resilience and decision-making under pressure.

His rally journey began with the 2018 Panda Raid, where he finished 46th among approximately 500 participants. Further events included the Desert Trophy Panda and consecutive RallyClassics Africa entries. In 2026, Pycock and navigator Francisco Javier Gómez Espigares completed all thirteen stages of the Dakar Classic in car 756, an original 1993 Mitsubishi Pajero, finishing 84th in the final general classification.

Pycock hosts La Mazmorra, a Spanish-language video podcast about discipline, transformation, health, business and freedom. He also co-writes, directs, produces and appears in This Is Not the Way, a documentary project following international business travel, adventure and entrepreneurial stories. These projects form part of Unfold.Life, his developing philosophy centred on becoming capable of more through deliberate action, adaptation and continued growth.
